Police probing racist tweets sent to Balotelli

LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Police say they are investigating racist messages sent to Mario Balotelli on Twitter in reaction to the Liverpool striker's posts about Manchester United's 5-3 loss to Leicester in the Premier League.

Balotelli tweeted "Man Utd...LOL" as United — a fierce rival of Liverpool — let slip a 3-1 lead during the match on Sunday. It triggered a string of racist comments.

Merseyside Police say "we can confirm officers are looking into offensive comments made on Twitter about Mario Balotelli earlier today," adding that they have not received any complaints.
